Washer Dryer Installation Cost Home Depot – After dreading doing laundry for so long, as well as noticing how old the washer and dryer had become, Adam Beasley of Lazy Guy DIY knew it was time for an update. Read the blog post to find out how Adam transformed his laundry room from scary to funky with some quick and easy tweaks.

Basements are not visible and internal in many cases. It’s easy to let the scene get away from you. Not enough light, little organization and all kinds of monsters hiding in deep, dark corners. We let our basement get the best of us. So we decided to partner with Home Depot to reclaim our abandoned space and turn it into a place we enjoy spending time in by redecorating the laundry room.

We’re not proud to admit it, but this is our basement before the updates. We have water damage from old gutters and the general bad habit of piling things in corners to deal with. (Check out how we fixed water damage and updated the space beforehand) When our ten-year-old dishwasher started smelling like it was on fire, we knew it was time for a change. We wanted to go with something high efficiency and high capacity because we just added a family of four.

When you already have a dark space, the last thing you need to do is add stainless steel appliances to set the tone. Working on The Home Depot’s website, we were immediately drawn to the Samsung 5.0’s high performance front loading and Samsung 7.5 light dryer which was bright and cheery white.

With a toddler and infant, it’s very easy to do at least one load a day of just their clothes. Throw in some older clothes and it looks like you’re going through loads of laundry around the clock. But that includes our old devices. This Samsung lets you run the equivalent of 3 full laundry baskets at once. Trust me, I tried it, and the volume is just right.

We love the ability to add an item of clothing at the last minute once the wash has already started. With many front-load washers, you have to wait until the cycle is completely finished to open the door. That’s not a Samsung problem. You press the stop button, open the front shower door and you’re good to go!

The easiest way to change the flow (not the laundry) in the basement is to add more light. Due to the lack of windows for natural light to come in, we brought in a pair of linkable LED shop lights from Commercial Light that changed the landscape of the space.

We have the option of recycling for new light fixtures or plugging in a pair of LED store lights. This turned out to be an easy decision. The LED lights in the store give us the added benefit of increased energy efficiency through 3600 lumens of pure white light. To make my life easier, I added these lights to our smart home upgrade. So if my hands are full, I can turn them on with a simple voice command.

Our old laundry room does not have a face from the laundry fold. We deal with it in several ways. First, we added an Edsal block table to the top of our new washer and dryer. It fits perfectly,  just right and gives us some reading space that will combat the whole “lost sock between the washer and dryer” epidemic. Plus, we’ve added these great McLean teapots to hold the rest.

Next, we brought in two Gladiator benches and a non-standing Gladiator garage cabinet (with hardware on wheels) in white. The hardwood top and white metal legs flow perfectly with our lighter color theme. Most importantly, it will wait for the water that cannot enter the basement.

Finally, to make our lives easier, we’re carrying two of these Sevilla linens below. Now we can carry our laundry from the washer to the dryer without losing a sock or two along the way!

We decided to bring a little funk to the room by adding some color. We used Behr’s Secret Society for our base color and key green for our fun highlights.

Adding a floor mat is a great way to bring personality to a room and break up drab gray floors. The real thief of a laundry room renovation turns out to be an old tub. After a little research, we discovered that the original sink was black. So why not top it off with some Key Largo green?

Best Time To Buy A Washer And Dryer (2024 Guide)

A washing machine can do more than handle a load of clothes. Many models have specialized programs that can be used to clean towels, caps and bedding. You can change clothes before putting them back on or remove dusty furniture. If you wash very delicate items, such as underwear, the best washing machine for your needs must have a delicate cycle or hand wash. Look for a heavy cycle if you wash frequently soiled items like sportswear or work clothes. Check your machines in cycles for large or bulky items, such as linens or towels. Some laundry detergents have allergy cycles to remove dust mites, pollen and other substances that cause allergic reactions.

Think about what you wash and how often. Find out which washing machine parts you need. Compare how different washing machines stack up. Here are the most important things to keep in mind before you buy:

Tip: Always set a budget before you start shopping. The price range for a washing machine can range from a few hundred to thousands of dollars.

The most popular types of washing machines are top-loading and front-loading models. You can also buy it in combination. Each type of device has its advantages and disadvantages. Portable laundry kits are good for small spaces, but they may not have many features. Front-load machines may have more features, but require a larger upfront investment. Higher-end agitators are generally more economical, but also have lower power consumption.

A standard top loading system has an agitator or column in the center of its bath. This agitator moves the clothes around to clean them. Top loading machines are more economical than front loading washing machines.

Front-loading washing machines use a horizontal drum that rotates to wash clothes. They have no agitators. Advantages and disadvantages include:

If your space is limited, the best washing machine for your needs may be a stackable front loader. You can install a dryer on top of this type of sink if the models are compatible. If you pack your gear, make sure you can still reach the controls. A matching stacking kit, sold separately, helps ensure the washer and dryer stay securely in place.

Portable sinks are useful for small spaces that cannot accommodate a full sink. Most have adapters that allow you to use a faucet as a water source, and the water that comes out flows into the sink. When not in use, many washers can be wheeled away for storage. Portable or compact dishwashers usually have a smaller capacity than other types of dishwashers, but they can be ideal for a one- or two-person household.

A washer/dryer combination is a device that washes and dries clothes. Some models can fit into a laundry space the size of a small closet and are ideal for apartments or homes for one or two people. Since all the clothes are washed and dried in the same machine, they make laundry day easier. You don’t have to carry heavy, wet items from one place to another. Some washer/dryer combinations do not need to be removed. Others require external ventilation. Most of them take longer to dry clothes than separate dryers.

At only one or two cubic feet, compact dishwashers are small and a good option for limited space. They offer high-performance cleaning and top-load design flexibility. They are both energy efficient and budget friendly. Compact washing machines can be stacked to save even more space. Despite their small size, they are strong
