Washer Dryer From Home Depot – Katrina Sullivan of Chic Little House decided to remodel her laundry room to create an organized, attractive, and functional space. Her summer makeover was complete with new storage, counters, fresh paint and of course a new LG washer and dryer with all accessories. With the help of The Home Depot, her laundry is no longer a chore, and she’s here to share the before and after experience, as well as some of her favorite features of her new appliances.
One of the most unused spaces in our home is the laundry room. There was absolutely no storage and the appliances only served the bare minimum for our laundry needs. Our laundry room opens into our kitchen and living room and seeing it in such a sorry state was a daily reminder that our family’s needs were not being met. We decided to tackle our laundry room this summer and create a laundry room that feels like an extension of our home.

On the to-do list was new storage, fresh paint, counter tops, and most exciting of all, installing a new washer and dryer.
Front Load Washer Vs. Top Load Washer
To understand how far our laundry has come, you have to look at what came before. You won’t believe it’s the same place, trust me!
We started our search for a washing machine by visiting The Home Depot online. We used the filters on the site to choose the washer and dryer that would fit our family’s needs. Since our laundry room is small, putting it side by side gives us more space, plus it allows me to have a small counter above to hold everyday essentials and a place to fold clothes.
I fell in love with the LG High Efficiency Front Load Washer and the LG High Efficiency Front Load Dryer. The black fingerprint resistant stainless steel paint looks very elegant and I felt that using a darker color would help ground our space.
Home Depot has videos on its website that share information on how to measure new appliances. This was critical because our area is small. We visited the devices in store and loved their look and all the features!

The LG washing machine has many cycles that help you make washing clothes easy. I often use these wash cycles for my family. Allergiene is perfect for bedding and clothing. I use this circle on my son’s clothes after playing outside in the grass. The cycle helps further clean his clothes. I also like the hygiene cycle for my husband’s work clothes and hand wash for my more delicate items.
I also love LG’s amazing TubWash feature, which cuts wash time by 20 minutes for large loads of laundry. No more hours of waiting for a load of laundry, it’s already done! Without a doubt, my favorite feature of the LG dryer is the steam option! I use the Steam Fresh cycle on shirts, quilts and bedding. I’m also a fan of the Freshen Up range. I used this feature a lot in my son’s swimwear this summer. He swims every day and this feature keeps his swimwear and towels fresh.
The ordering and delivery process was also extremely easy. The delivery guys installed our new washer and dryer in record time and made sure everything was working properly before they left. With our new washer and dryer in place, I felt inspired to tackle revamping the rest of our laundry room and finally create a space where laundry no longer feels like a chore.
We have subway tiles in our kitchen and decided to bring the same look to our laundry room using Daltile Restore Bright White Tiles. These tiles are a small version of our subway tile for the kitchen and fit perfectly in the small space of our room.

This was our first tile project and we were a little nervous. Fortunately, a Home Depot associate was able to help us select the right materials needed to complete our project. We also installed floating shelves above our washer and dryer to provide extra storage. We have been without a worktop in our laundry room for years and it has been a huge inconvenience. Socks kept disappearing behind our washer and dryer. When the installers moved our old washer and dryer, it was embarrassing to see all the lint and clothes falling behind the machines!
Using PureBond birch plywood that we cut to size at The Home Depot, we were able to make the bench itself for our space. I walked through the wood flooring section looking for inspiration to find the perfect stain color. I found a sample of natural wood that I liked and used that to choose the ideal Varathane stain. The natural stain was lovely and helped bring out the beauty of the wood. As a bonus, it dries within an hour! I wanted the room to be bright and open, so I painted the walls Swiss Coffee by Behr. I also applied a new coat of fresh white paint to the trim.
I am so in love with our new laundry room and I love my new appliances. The LG washer and dryer in our laundry room was a real game changer! I love that our space looks bigger and brighter. I also love all the storage we have now. Laundry is no longer a chore. The room is now a space I enjoy being in now. Plus, since our laundry room is also how our guests enter our backyard patio, it’s no longer a nuisance. Such a good feeling!

After living in our current home for almost 2 years, I FINALLY decided to take some time and give my laundry room some love. My only regret is that it took me so long to get to it! I spend a decent amount of time in the laundry every day. Admittedly, I don’t really like doing laundry, but now I’m happy to report that I LOVE my room. Having taken the time to dress it up and make some necessary upgrades, I’m now enjoying it a bit more.
