We obviously focused a lot on the interior of the house during our first year as homeowners, but with our second summer in the house behind us, we were excited about a few small updates to the exterior. After tidying up the yard, we moved on to making a cedar window box. All the bungalow-style houses in our area have stone brackets for a cute little window box, so we needed one stat. Luke was able to build and paint the box in just a few hours, while I ran to the local garden center and bought all the plants I needed.
A quick update that makes the front of the house a little happier for summer! I also planted a few planters to frame the front door. I got a lot of help from the garden center on what plants to use in low light. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, a member of staff helped me place all the best flowers and we created a repeating pattern. I took a picture so I wouldn’t forget the order when I got home. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to gardening, but so far so good!
